Chef T aka Theresa Pham was born and raised in Saigon, where food plays an important role and is the backbone of Vietnamese culture. Her formal culinary training comes from the years spent in her mama’s kitchen, at times playing sous chef but always learning the essence of Vietnamese cooking. By age 18, the roles in the kitchen reversed, with Theresa taking over as the prime cook of the family, having now surpassed what she could learn at her mother’s side.
As a lifelong learner, Theresa continued to learn in the kitchens of her friends’ mothers, from her Japanese mother-in-law, and global travels where cuisine played an important part. Her joy of cooking, of blending cultural influences, designing and serving new and unique flavourful dishes, and looking at food as an expression of love, have come together into Theresa’s cooking classes.
